As I mentioned last week, one of the ways I was going to attempt to post more in 2013 was by following some of the Daily Prompts found at The Daily Post.
Since making that declaration, I have either been too busy, too uninspired by the Prompt, or too inspired by the Prompt (I felt that the post would require more than a day to write) to follow through with the plan.
But today’s Prompt seemed like a great way to break my Daily Prompt cherry.
Explain why you chose your blog’s title and what it means to you.
Choosing the title was relatively easy. The Cutter is my nickname, (And no, Mrs. Cutter and Squinty, I would not like to hear your opinion on this) and I sometimes like to ramble on about things. Hence, I figured The Cutter Rambles would be an appropriate name for the blog.
Over four years later, I feel the name still fits well. While I’ve tried to shore up my writing, (Just take a look at some of my posts from 2008. Most of those weren’t examples of refined writing) I can still ramble on at times.
At least now, I think my ramblings have more of a purpose, and there’s some deep meaning behind the words. Or maybe I’m just telling myself that so I feel better. Hey, whatever helps us sleep at night, right?
So there, I’ve popped my Daily Prompt cherry. Time to go celebrate with some ice cream!

Note: I did not actually celebrate with ice cream. I just felt the post needed an image (Photo source: Flickr)

Yes, but WHY is the Cutter your nickname?
Congrats on your cherry poppin’.
Seemed like a good name. I was partially inspired by Lenny Dykstra’s son (now engaged to Jamie Lynn Sigler) and partially by the G.I. Joe character.
OK then.
Can you expound upon why ‘the Cutter?’ When I first saw you comment on my blog I was thinking, “Do I attract people who delve into self-harm?” Your name kinda suggests that you might… not that I am judging. I’m just pointing it out…. O_o
I guess I should have realized that it was the Cutter part of the blog’s title that would cause some confusion.
Please refer to the earlier comment regarding the source of the nickname. Don’t worry, there’s no self mutilation involved!
I am relieved… not that I judge cutters, it’s just that I don’t want anyone *that* upset should I write something… untoward?
Oh, you should still avoid “untoward” comments. I have other ways of extracting revenge.
Well, sometimes what is perfectly normal to me is obscenely offensive to others, which is *exactly* why I don’t talk to my oldest sister anymore. Can’t say anything without her turning it into an attack… thank heaven she isn’t a cutter.
